OVERVIEW

The Firestone FR740 is a performance and high performance all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles. It has some touring sizes too.

The tire offers excellent all weather traction. The all season tire compound and the tread pattern increase the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping ability. The compound does not lose its road grip in colder temperatures, while the tread elements keep their firm grip on the road surface at all times. The wide flow-through circumferential grooves effectively resist hydroplaning situations by eliminating water from below the tire’s footprint. The safer wet and winter weather traction and constant road contact improve the year round driving safety.

The tread design manages to improve the model’s controllability. The tread design’s center rib increases the steering responsiveness and driving stability. It upgrades the steering to be faster and more precise in its response to the driver’s instructions, while at the same time it stabilizes the tire against the driving pressure affecting it during the drive. The tread design’s shoulder tread block sequence increases the number of biting edges that grip the road surface. The more biting edges improve the cornering and maneuvering capability and ensure a safer driving experience.

The model promotes a longer tread life. The tread pattern’s semi-asymmetric design and siping detail upgrade the length of the tread life and the tire’s usability. The tread design manages to evenly spread the driving pressure out across the tread area. This equal distribution of the forces of acceleration, cornering and braking guarantees an extended tread life and usability. The extended tread makes the tire more cost efficient.

The FR740 provides better high speed performance. The tire’s internal structure features twin steel belts and a polyester casing cord that maintain the optimal shape. The stronger structure enables the tire to perform to its highest capability by not allowing it to deform under the driving pressure affecting it. The tire resists the high speed driving pressure and guarantees a safer driving experience in all conditions.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
