OVERVIEW

The Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 050 is a high performance summer tire manufactured for passenger vehicles.

The model offers excellent summer weather traction. The asymmetric tread design and summer weather compound work together to improve the dry and wet weather traction. The tread’s enhanced road contact ensures first-rate dry weather performance, while the wide circumferential and lateral groove effectively resists hydroplaning by dispersing water from below the tire’s footprint. The stronger compound prevents heat build-up and maintains its flexibility in warm weather. However, this model is not suited for winter conditions. The compound and tread do not keep their road grip and traction in colder temperatures.

The tire is easily controlled. The optimized high performance tread pattern keeps the tire’s road contact at all times, which upgrades the steering responsiveness and driving stability. In other words, the structure is stabilized against the pressure affecting it, while the steering is faster and more precise in its response to the driver’s commands. The tread’s shoulder tread blocks manage to boost the cornering and maneuvering capability. They heighten the number of biting edges that firmly grip the road surface in such situations to guarantee a safer performance. The lateral notches and grooves shorten the braking distance. They create friction at the moment of braking, increasing the braking capability and road grip to promote a secure driving experience.

The SP Sport Maxx 050 features Dunlop’s special Hybrid Kevlar Nylon Band in its internal structure. This construction enhances the model’s high speed capability and ensures a comfortable drive. The reinforced structure strengthens the tire against the high speed driving pressure, actively resisting the deformation of the optimized tire shape. This allows the model to safely perform at high speeds. The structure also allows the tire to closely follow the road surface. In this manner, the model absorbs the shock of driving, decreasing the road vibrations felt and impact noise heard in the vehicle’s cabin while the tires are in motion. The result is a secure and comfortable high speed performance.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
