Description
The Cooper Tire company has been making quality tires at affordable prices for almost 100 years in the United States. Founded in 1914 as M&M Manufacturing Company in Akron, Ohio, the company produced patches, cement, and repair kits for tires. In 1920 the company acquired Giant Tire & Rubber Company, and moved their headquarters to Findlay, Ohio, and began making tires. During World War II the company supplied tires for the Allied Forces and was awarded the Army-Navy ‘E’ Award for their contribution to the war effort. In 1946, the name was officially changed to Cooper Tire & Rubber Company. The ProControl is Cooper’s Grand Touring All Season Tire designed for a wide-ranging variety of drivers behind the wheels of family sedans, sporty coupes, CUVs and SUVs looking for responsive handling that puts them firmly in control of their vehicle. Cooper offers a 70,000-mile treadwear warranty for H & V rated tires, and a 60,000-mile treadwear warranty for W rated. The internal construction of the ProControl is fashioned around keeping drivers in command, with its polyester body ply overlaid with angled steel belts to carry the strength and stiffness necessary for crisp steering response. The high turn-up polyester casing provides additional sidewall durability. A nylon reinforcement cap ply is vulcanized to the other belts to support handling responsiveness and high-speed capability.
