OVERVIEW

The Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 RFT is a performance winter tire manufactured for passenger vehicles.

The model is a run flat tire. Its reinforced internal structure enables its limited, temporary performance in case of air pressure loss. This structure allows the tire to be driven on for 50 miles up to 50 mph after air pressure leaves it due to a puncture or other damage. This prevents the vehicle from being stranded on the side of the road, allowing it to safely arrive at a nearby location where the damaged tire can be fixed or changed. Run flat tires are usually made for vehicles with no space for a spare tire.

The tire promotes great winter weather traction. This studless tire utilizes its winter compound and detailed tread design to increase the winter weather performing ability. The tread elements feature a high-density siping detail that enables the tire to heighten the number of biting edges gripping the road surface in versatile weather. The winter compound enhances the rubber flexibility in colder temperatures. The tread’s circumferential and angled lateral grooves prevent hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from below the footprint. This improves the wet and winter weather road gripping ability and winter weather driving safety.

The tread design upgrades the model’s controllability. The tread’s close and constant surface contact upgrades the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. The steering becomes faster and more precise in its response to the driver’s commands, while the structure is stabilized against the driving pressure affecting the model. The detailed shoulder blocks boost the cornering and maneuvering ability with additional biting edges gripping the road surface. The high-density siping detail works together with the angled lateral grooves to shorten the braking distance. This allows the tire to improve the braking power, ensuring a secure performance.

The Blizzak LM-25 RFT enhances the length of the tread life with the ideal tread design and the durable compound. The tread design improves the surface contact and allows the tire to evenly distribute the driving pressure along the tread area. The equally spread out forces of acceleration cornering and braking avoids irregular wear formations across the tread area. The durable compound is resistant to wear, which slows the wear rate down significantly. This results in the tire’s exceptionally lengthened usability.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
